What is The Lost Island?

The Lost Island is a fictitious place that exists in my head. A place of fantasy fuelled by the TV and film that I watch, the fashion that comes and goes, the stories that I read, and to the soundtrack of the music I listen to. Whilst I’ll try not to delve too deeply in that fantasy, there may be the occasional introduction.

This blog is a place for me to express the things I enjoy, like above; film, TV, fashion, music, and maybe the occasional whine of how crappy my day has been. I will not pretend to be any sort of professional critique or wordsmith, it will solely be based on my opinion, an opinion that I would like to share with you all.

Stanford House

Another catch up post for my recent Sims 3 builds. This one started life as a requested build, but due to lack of contact, it become my own (not so) little project.

If any of you have ever seen the film "My Girl", you may recognise the front porch of the house. This is inspired by the real Stanford Inn in Florida, which was used as exterior shots in the film.

New Medium

I decided it was past time I ventured into (attempting to) making videos and uploading them on youtube. For my first attempt I just did a slideshow and kept it simple. Hopefully it can serve as another way to share and promote my builds. I hope to eventually be able to produce something a little more elaborate, such as a video showing the progress of a build etc. For now, I shall stick with slideshows.

This is a video of all of the screenshots of Hacienda De Sim Antonio, which I chose due to how elaborate the interiors are.

Please feel free to leave any feedback or suggestions. I am still very much learning at this stage. I'm aware of the music issue and I have already made a mental note for future reference.

The Loft

This next build was a Secret Santa gift for DNA team mate, wibblelikeajelly.

Featured!!!

Two of my most recent builds (and two of my biggest) have both been featured on the Sims 3 website. They have even been mentioned on their facebook page.

Hacienda De Sim Antonio

Four Seasons, Hotel George V

It certainly makes all that effort a little more worth while.

The Four Seasons

A Sims 3 forum user requested a recreation of the Parisian hotel, Hotel George V, a hotel belonging to the Four Seasons chain.

This was a personally taxing build. The shear size of it combined with the level of detail I wanted to achieve was exhausting. It was a very long process to complete this build. There are aspects of it I am very pleased with but overall that is diminished by my negative experience with the build.

Slacking

I am considerably far behind on keeping this blog up to date. I several builds that I need to post on here and will be doing so A.S.A.P

I should probably also blog on some pretty life changing stuff that has occurred but all of that is to come.

Stay tuned......
